The first ever Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup took place on Lake Joe and Rosseau on July 20th 2013.
The event was a huge success and participants enjoyed a day full of sun and fun on the water!
The growth of the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup events over the last five years is unprecedented and has far exceeded everyone’s expectations.
The Rally events have raised over $11 million for cancer research, treatment and care at SickKids. Our collective efforts for the Boat Rally this year has raised over $650,000 for the Hospital for Sick Children.
These funds are extremely important and help with the world class innovations happening at SickKids. This research will translate into new and effective treatments for children who in the future will be battling cancer.
The Boat Rally was made up of 5 different pit stops along the lakes starting out at Rocky Crest with a huge brunch and travelling to Gordon Bay Marine, Oviinbyrd Golf Course, Lake Joe Club, Summer Water Sports, a private cottage and a special surprise lunch pop up barge sponsored by Maple Lodge Farms.
The event ended with a gala dinner at Ken and Pauline Hood’s cottage where a silent and live auction raised additional funds for SickKids.
Dan Cooper is happy to announce he raised over $16,005 in support of SickKids and would like to express sincere gratitude for everyone who helped support this cause with him.
