LEST WE FORGET
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. By wearing the Poppy, we demonstrate our gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy. They are reminders of those who died while for fighting for peace: we wear them as reminders of the horrors of conflict and the preciousness of the peace they fought hard to achieve.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
